Advice for MCC Members in Career Transition

I would like to reach out to the MCC Community and ask advice/input and feedback on behalf of the MCC members who may be in a career transition. I am currently in that "in transition" group and I have been attending as many events as possible, meeting many wonderful people. What would be the ONE or TWO suggestions you would give someone?

Do your research - are there specific companies that "fit" your profile? Visit their website and come to MCC with the names (or titles) of one or two key people that you would like to meet.
Think and talk about "alternate" industries. Maybe you've been in a specific industry for years, but your skills can translate to very different industries... what might those industries be?
It sounds like you've got the networking part down pretty well. It would also be useful to look over the list of who's RSVP'd that they're coming to an event, and pull up their profiles. Plan ahead for who you want to make sure to meet.
Also, you could ask Charlie, Terry, or one of us "old timers" who they think you should meet when you get to the event.
On a more general/non-networking note, you need to do whatever you can (read MUST) to stay positive and stay in action. Some of the things make obvious sense - set up meetings with new contacts, make new contacts (!), go on interviews, research companies & job openings, etc. But some things may not - things like look to make sure that the job you're looking for is the perfect job that fulfills your purpose in life, do something good for yourself, balance your job search with your family life, talk with friends, do something that nurtures your soul, etc.
All of the above things are really important to being effective in your job search. Most of us concentrate on the "obvious sense" things to the detriment of the other things - which leaves you less positive, energized and effective in creating and attracting that next perfect job to you.
To let everyone know (I need to add an ask to my profile!), I am starting small coaching groups to support people who are looking for work. These groups are designed to keep you focused where you need to be, in action, and being positive. When you're alone, without the structure of a company, a job and a job description around you, it can be incredibly difficult. These groups will provide you with the structure to keep you going in the right direction.
