Wrong Words, Right Results
Sometimes we think we are clear in what we say, but we're not. The results can be surprising! An amusing post on Rick Weaver's blog tells the story well - -
The dieter
The doctor tells his patient, “You are too overweight. If you don’t take off some pounds you will either have a heart attack or risk diabetes.”
Explaining he was a traveling salesman so weighing or measuring portions would be difficult, the doctor recommended a new diet.
“Eat regularly for two days then skip a day,” the doctor ordered.
When he returned two weeks later the doctor was amazed at a 40 pound weight loss.

LOL - Thanks Rick and Linda! As a follow up you can read the "Amelia Bedelia" books. The series is written for children but shares an interesting perspective for adults in perception and wording.
I am challenged with a short attention span, so I have a tendency to read through things quickly. I remember a school assignment that the first instruction is to "read all instructions" before starting the assignment. Most of the students skipped that one and went on to do much more work than required.
My Dad used to always say " I am not overweight, I am just UNDER-HEIGHT"
Your father is clearly a very wise man, Ben - and I agree with him!
I have the same short legs and as we age losing weight is harder, I dislike that last
comment so much. But apple cider vinegar can help, put a tablespoon or two in
a juice glass and drink fast. Do this a couple times a day and you'll be surprised
and also the benefits are amazing if you stick with it.
