Description:
An International supplier for self-lubricating, maintenance free bearings is seeking an account manager/sales engineer with experience in the application of bearings to heavy industries.
Sales experience in one or more of the following industries is preferred: Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Pump, Compressor or Turbomachinery, Hydro, Marine & Offshore, Packaging, Cranes, Earth moving equipment, heavy duty vehicles, and railway. Candidates should have a proven record of success through growing sales in new accounts, developing new applications, or winning business from competitors. Experience working with global accounts is a plus. Candidates should demonstrate a positive attitude, personal initiative and willingness to take on new challenges. Job requires up to 50% travel. Experience in managing small project teams is a plus. Experience in mechanical engineering design is a plus.
Successful candidates will assume complete responsibility for assigned accounts. Establish close contact with all relevant customer purchasing, engineering, quality and manufacturing personnel to gain their assistance in the maintenance of current business and development of new business. Travel is required to support the customer and to support/develop new opportunities.
- Ensure that all commercial, engineering, technical and quality issues are discussed and resolved with the appropriate customer and internal personnel.
- Monitor the accuracy and timeliness of quotations, sample and initial production shipments.
- Maintain effective communications with the business units with respect to business trends, marketing conditions and competitive changes.
- Coordinate and organize visits to plants and technical sites to ensure that customer needs and requirements are being met.
- Actively participate in achieving corporate and divisional goals and objectives relative to quality, cost, profit, return on sales, productivity, customer service, and adherence to budget goals.
- Keep fully informed of product and manufacturing changes that are internal and external to the organization.
- Develop sales plan/forecast, long-term strategic plan, and input competitor information as it becomes available.
- Monitor and assist in settling aging accounts receivable.
- Perform detailed customer presentations.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
-Masters preferred
-3 to 5 years experience in OE Sales
-Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects concurrently
-Ability to evaluate the business issues and prioritize activities
