Did your Summer count? Did you have a great quarter? Did you land that big new account you’ve been dreaming about? Do you make a difference in someone’s life? If not, snap to it. We never get another shot at today. There are only 4 days left until September.
Here are a few tactics for all of us to make the most of the remains days of summer.
1. Make the call.
Who needs to hear your voice? Who could make a big difference in your bottom line as a client? Quit thinking about people you should reach out to and actually do it. Make the call. Pick up the phone. Now.
2. Grow your network
Nothing yields long term results like networking. But, you can’t pick the fruit until you plant the seeds. You’re not meeting new people behind your desk. Get to the MCC lunch in Royal Oak tomorrow at 11am. You’ll meet a lot of other cool folks who are out shaking trees too. They just might know the person you want to do business with.
Can get away for lunch? Join us tomorrow night from 5-9pm in Troy for bocce ball, cocktails and networking at Tre Monte.
3. Learn a new technique
If the same old methods are yielding the same old crappy results, it’s time to up your game. We talked about some of the great MCC coaches in the past. Two of my favorite sales gurus have interesting training sessions coming up. Rick Weaver is offering an online time management class called Beat the Clock.
MCC founder Terry Bean is offering his Effective Networking Training class to help you shorten your sales cycles, expand your sales force’s abilities and strengthen your bottom line. If you haven’t attended one of Terry’s sessions yet, you’re only running at half power. He has powerful stuff.
4. Go international
The world is closer than ever. The internet has made a level playing field for small business to compete on a global stage. MCC is a great source of talent to help you succeed overseas. Beverly Cornell can help you get a Global Perspective on your business. Kenji Yano help you open new doors in Japan. Joaquin Frias can help with the Spanish speaking world. Mostansar Virk and Randi Lou Franklin make sure your Ts are crossed in every language.
5. Go non profit
There is no better way to show your expertise, meet new people and warm the cockles of your heart like doing a little pro bono, participating in a fundraiser or opening your wallet for a great cause.
Ben Rosenzweig has a fantastic opportunity for you to help special needs kids (and get a little exercise), check out the Walk 4 Friendship.
Kimberly Kassner needs some help with her MS benefit .
Colleen Theuerkauf is putting on a golf outing for future leaders of our United States Air Force.
6. Go online
Increase the size of your digital footprint. Make sure people find you when they are searching on the internet. The MCC membership is full of experts in this category. Just search “web design”, “search marketing” or “social media” in MCC’s search box for the list of experts. Make sure you check out Kevin, Henry, Jeremiah, Shaun and Dave. They are some of my favorites!
Do you have any tips for growing our businesses? Don’t keep them to your self! Share with MCC at the discussion forums.
Together, we’lll do great things.
