The MCC Olympic Medal Challenge

The Beijing games are almost over... and unbeknown to the local media, Motor City Connect has won three medals - one of each color.

Your challenge is to name (or create) the events in which each medal was won, and the reason MCC earned either gold, silver or bronze.

Winner will be judged by my (anonymous) panel - we don't want an judge-bribing allegations, you know, and no performance-enhancing drugs are allowed.

This challenge runs through Friday, August 29. The winner will be announced on Monday, September 1.

The prize, as usual, is bragging rights here at MCC, and a $10 donation from The Write Concept to the charity of your choice, in your name.

Let the Games Begin!

Great Job, Ben, and great second post, Duane!

How many other events can we win???  Last time I heard, China and (I think) 30 gold medals - can we top them?

Hey peeps,, are Ben and I going to be the only ones to accept Linda's challenge. I'm sure that there are people in this group who have the creative talent to make this a fun contest. How about the "Under Thirties" group? I have over thirty years of losing brain cells on you and I still tried. Come on people, let's have some fun.

Well i think that the event at the detroit zoo will win the gold.

The bronze should go to all who attend mcc tuesday lunches at royal oak.

and of course i will take the silver for my delicious fruit bouquet that was at automation alley.

Of course Terry and Charlie should get some kind of medal for mcc.

Gold:  Terry Bean and Charlie Wollborg in the "1,000 Member Run". For their outstanding creativity in creating a group that has grown faster than any other Collective X group and provided connections and opportunities that have been instrumental in growing Detroit's micro-businesses.

Silver: Duane Ahola for "Men's Freestyle Photo Wrestling". Never has anybody gotten as much exposure for not having a headshot as Duane did at the Auto Alley training session. Everybody there now knows his name and can now see his face. By wrestling with the photo issue, Duane got maximum exposure.

Bronze: Bahaa Kachi for "Synchronized Fruit Cutting". He has to be good, fast, and accurate at it to create such delicious and attractive fruit arrangements.

Respectfully,

Rick Weaver

Great Entries, Rick!  And I assume that Duane's Silver was achieved in a "photo finish" - - is that correct?

OMG, will the abuse ever stop! My own personal humiliation and pain aside, how about it people, let's use our imaginations and submit a bunch of new entries.

Duane, I hope you are saying that with a laugh and a smile -

Duane is always so good at these! Thanks for hosting another thought provoking challenge, Linda. You are gold in my book!

Thanks, Charlie - and so are you in my book.

I'm not picking favorites at this point, but I'd love to see a few more people take on the challenge - and a few new sports for us all to consider.
