Are we voting for the Zoo?

I will be... because I think it's important we have such cultural institutions. But I also supported the failed arts tax - I think some government spending is silly, but other spending that benefits us all as a region and our children is really important. It's about $10 on a $200k house, so it's not an onerous property tax.
So will be you be voting for, or against - and why?

Undecided - I understand its cultural and regional tourism importance, but generally believe capitalism should prevail (i.e. if the zoo is worthy, customers will support it or it should improve operations to make it profitable). Also, if they don't address the root cause of their issues who's to say next year they won't ask for another $10 or more...?
I'll be chipping in my $10 even though I not a fan of government spending or the administration.
Every time I take my son and nephews through the tunnel in the polar bear exhibit and watch their eyes gape open in wonderment when the bears swim over-head, I remember the zoo is a gem and worth every penny.
I am in support of the millage. It seems tht when times get tough the arts and culture are the first things to go. These are the legacy for our children and grandchildren and on and on. A lot of the younger generation take this into consideration with regard to relocation. Companies also look at it because it helps recruit. If you look at Chicago, San Francisco and New York you can see there is a great deal of art and culture available in each of those cities. Even Toledo has a great art museum and zoo. It is imperative that we don't give up on these jewels. This administration, local, state and federal all exhibit a lack of foresight. It is a shame that all are in office at the same time. Please forgive my running off at the mouth.
