It has been a long process for my certification to get granted. I am beyond excited for this classification. I plan on participating in many of the WBE functions and am curious of the other MCC WBE owners!
Looking forward to hearing from you and about your success stores. Please tell me something that benefited you so far from being a certified member.
Have a fabulous day!

Hey Jennifer- I am just starting this process after saying I would forever. Is it as daunting as it looks?
I have no idea what WBE is. My company www.Stage-Show-Sell.com is mine and I am Woman.
Hi Lisa,
The process may seem like a long road, but if it was "easy" than the certification wouldn't mean anything. They want to make sure everything is in line before granting a certification. Make sure you follow their directions that are clearly spelled out, and submit every document they request. If they are asking for something that you do not have, you need to write a statement that says "xxxxx document does not exist" and a brief explanation as to why.
Good Luck!
Excellent Jennifer! Now you need to reap the rewards for staying diligent to the application process. Make sure you use it as a competitive advantage and start focusing on companies with supplier diversity programs.
EXACTLY, Rick! I'm always working on it!
Congrats Jennifer!!! I know several women that went through this and know it wasn't an easy task to do.
Way to go!!
Congrads. I am/have a woman owned business. My business is INTER-LINGUA. How long have you been in business? What is the name of your business and what do you do? I look forward to hearing more from you! Dr. Randi Lou
Brilliant! I am a womens owned business and would love to have more info on this process.
Thanks Melissa! You're right; it definitely was not easy, but anything worth anything usually isn't, right?
Angela- go to www.wbenc.org/ and read about the certification process. You can begin the application process online. GOOD LUCK!
Dr. Randi Lou thanks for the congrats. I believe we have met before at a couple of different functions (Salute to Paralegal 2007 event) and I met you at one of the Royal Oak meetings. We do real estate appraisals. Have a great day!
Jennifer, you are correct we have met a few times, your pix does not do you justice. For the women thinking about becoming a WBE it is important that you get your paperwork in order and do it sooner than later as it is quite involved and also look at who you want to have for your clients! If your clients demand/require that for them to work with you then go for it. It can be an asset if you utilize it correctly!
The link goes to a west branch engineering club
This should work!
www.wbenc.org/
Yes, the www.wbenc.org is correct, I believe that the mistake in obtaining the engineering club is that ".org" was not used and instead another suffix like ".com or .net" was erroneously used. Fortunately there are a number of women business owners with MCC and of course there are other networking groups in the area that are primarily women business owners such as NAWBO and WIN of Macomb.
Congratulations, Jennifer!
Please do check into NAWBO - we'd love to have you as a member. http://www.nawbogdc.org
