Special Alert: Passing of Dave Biskner
I just sent this blast:
There are only about 5 people for whom I would send this and roughly 30 who are wondering if they're on that list.
Dave Biskner passed away this past Tuesday morning at U of M Hospital. I waited to send this until the obituary was done and for when those of you who would want to know, would see it. Included in the Obituary link are the visitation times as well as funeral and burial arrangements. Perhaps I'll see some of you there.
Dave was instrumental in the beginning of Motor City Connect. In fact, it was a conversation that he and I had about starting a Detroit-centric LinkedIn group that was part of the genesis for this group. Dave was on the masthead of the original Motor City Connect yahoo group as co-founder.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
In lieu of flowers, Dave has requested donations be made to his non-profit "Friends of the Milwaukee Junction". That is a link to their Facebook page. I am sure there will be a discussion there soon on how to make that donation. As soon as I get info, I will post on the Motor City Connect Facebook page.
Please do make it a point to tell the people you care about, love and admire that you do. Our time here is not guaranteed by any stretch.
Rest in Peace, Dave.
Peace be with you all.
Terry Bean

Of course, Terry would figure out a way to send one of these for himself posthumously, so that only leaves 4 Willy Wonka gold tickets.
Seriously, our community lost a great networker. One who gave way more than he received, although, he never saw it that way.
Vaya con dios mi amigo...
Thanks T for passing the news along. I remeber Dave as persistent, kind and professional. Always doing what he could to help others get ahead.
RIP Mr B - may your passing add a demention of strength and courage to our lives as we go forward.
