Things you should know about MCC
I am ecstatic about the growth of our group. We now have over 760 people all of whom could have an impact on your businesses. I want to make sure we are all receiving significant value from this group. As such, I would like to encourage you to take full utilization of both our online and offline networking opportunities. Here are some ideas on how to do so:
Online- the most important thing you can do for yourself is fill out your profile. The most important thing you can do for others is read theirs. Please take the time to upload a picture as it helps to personalize your page. I would also recommend that you fill out the "personal objective" section. Loosely translated, that is a great place for you to put your ASK. I would also like to thank Rachel Williams, Nancy Brundred and Ben Rosenzweig. We are in the process of putting together an actual MCC best practices document.
While on the topic of ASK, I would like to draw your attention to our discussion groups. One of them is dedicated solely to your ASK. If you are looking for something or someone, that is the place to post it. There are lots of other great discussion groups including:
Best practices networking
Mcc experts
In and around Detroit
The spiritual side of life
And many more.
These discussion groups are a great place for you to show your flare while simultaneously learning about and adding value to others.
One last online must: the calendar. If you have an event, post it. Looking for something to do on a Tuesday, check the calendar. Its amazing how much goes on every day.
While the online component of mcc is important, our face to face events are where mcc members really shine. If you have yet to join us for an outing, consider yourself invited. This summer promises picnics, golf outings and other events that showcase our states natural beauty.
On the off chance you missed it, you have lunch plans on Tuesdays. We will continue to expand to bring lunch to a location near you. We have also opened mcc happy hours and breakfasts are soon to be served. All this info and more can be found on our online calendar.
Two specific notes of personal interest:
1. On may 31 we will be hosting a large networking event disguied as a day of work with www.blightbusters.org. We will need people to paint, do demolition and help with general clean up. This is a great opportunity to get to know each other better while helping the community.
2. I have scheduled two networking training events that will include ample networking time. May 12 from 2:30-5:00 and may 16, from 8:30-11:00. Both sessions will be held at automation alley. More info can be found guess where, yes the calendar.
Thank you for your support. Please do let others know about us and as always tell us what we can do to help you.
BE Great-
Terry Bean

What I like about MCC-
1. The people are great!
2. Lot's of energy.
3. Inclusive not exclusive.
4. Motivated by what is good for the community, not just for themselves.
5. Open minded.
