John,
Thanks for pointing out this article. People like Dave Bing and Dennis Archer are the leaders that citizens of Detroit and surrounding communities need to be seeking for guidance to improve our region.

Those class acts have been working very hard for years to help turnaround the city.
As a city-based business, sometimes people look at us a little askance - some of our potential and current clients hadn't been downtown in 10 or 15 years save for going to a Tiger game and leaving right away - others only know what they hear on TV news - but the reality is that the energy, the passion, the excitement of every day being in the epicenter of so much happening is unparalleled.
When Gilbert talked about Detroit 2.0 and "downtown Detroit is where the future of creativity and best talent is going to come," we've known that for awhile (but it's always better to have someone with as much juice as him say it).
I'll take this opportunity to plug the MCC social event this evening at Pulse. I cordially invite you all to my neighborhood - the outside of Pulse has a great view of the new shops at Compuware, a 100+ year old Temple of Oddfellows getting restored as we speak after being vacant for a long time, and is a short walk away from Campus Martius, our regions' historical center - as it has, buried beneath it, the marker that all of our mile roads were measured from.
