Birmingham Resident/Author David Tarver to hold Book Signing on August 9th at Townsend Hotel

It’s been a long and fascinating passage from David Tarver’s days as a young black student at Michigan’s Flint Central High School during the height of the civil rights movement, to his current role as author, tech entrepreneur and millionaire, all of which is chronicled in his first book, Proving Ground, which launched on July 2. Proving Ground: A Memoir, (Cypress House: 2012), is available in bookstores and at online retailers (paperback, $18.95). WHO: David Tarver, a native of Flint, Mich., received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan. In 1983, Tarver started Telecom Analysis Systems (TAS) in his basement with two colleagues. In 1995, Tarver engineered the sale of TAS for $30 million. He chronicles this journey in his first book, Proving Ground: A Memoir. Currently, Tarver is lecturing on his book and entrepreneurial insights. He and his family reside in Birmingham, Mich.
