A NEW MCC CHALLENGE - Take a Moment to Let those Around You Know They're Special!
It takes a lot less effort to smile than to scowl,
just as it's easier to compliment someone than to put them down somehow.
In the Detroit area, we put ourselves & each other down so much, we don't need any enemies.

Ask yourself how many people are special to you?
How many of them have you told recently?
In the last month, have you told anyone that they're special to you?
Here's the beginning of my list:
My wife, Rose - she's always there when I have a bad day. Her smile & energy keep me going & makes it possible to give my best each day.
My Family - they call me even when I'm too busy to call them and they never hold it against me. Just knowing they're there gives me an emotional safety net.
In no particular order:
Walter Crosby - for showing me everyone needs a coach.
Pavol Tkac - the definition of a friend who's there when you need them.
Ron Tremper - the man is an eternal optimist and sperads it like a "disease"!
Terry Bean - he's a man of action for others & is the epitome of a network gateway. I hope to be 1/2 as good as he at helping others.
Barry Demp - everytime I talk to him, he's coached me for free & pushes me to excel.
Ben Rozensweig - so much accomplished at a young age, incredible!
Gerry Weinberg he is what he says. Great kool-aide:)
Charlie Wollborg - just a trouble making, funny, lovable guy. So creative!
Chuck Gifford - the man should be enjoying his retirement, but keeps building a network to help others.
Jeremy & Jeanna - they believe in Detroit so much they moved here from Seattle! They WILL make a difference.
Nate & Dylan - pushed the REI scene out of it's rut. Great entrepreneurs!
Paul Anderson - just like a Marine, the guy never gives up.
Mark Raymond - the quite networker, doesn't realize how good he could be:)
Tip Quilter - a very talented writer of blueprints for success.
Merry Beth Schubert - i admire her for speaking her mind & not being afraid to take chances.
Keith Stonehouse - a marketing powerhouse! He should be in politics.
Preston True - after one lunch i want to be the guy's best friend.
Linda Anger - she's accomplished so much from such humble beginnings.
There are so many more, but so little time.
Know that everyone I spend time with I learn something valuable from and I appreciate how special they are for that.
Everyone on Motor City Connect is special because they've made the extra effort to be a positive influence!!!

This is great Drew and thanks for your words... I wish from MCC that everyone would truly read this and live by it not only in their business of course, but in their personal lives as well. MCC is not only about business networking but yet more about bringing more to the table. Bringing or should I say: Offering more to those around you here in Detroit. This blurb or blog does just that.
Thanks Drew...
Thanks, Drew!
I'm honored to be "on the list"
Here are a few of mine, relative to MCC:
Beverly Cornell - who "showed me the way" to MCC in the first place,
Lori Williams - for her absolute sincerity, a true friend,
Charlie Wollberg - who reminds me that I should always be and "...and" person,
Terry Bean - whose commitment to Detroit and MCC are the driving force behind everything here,
Natalie Brundred - for her honesty, her wisdom, and her courage,
Mary Hanser - who adds a million megawatts to the energy in the room,
and (gleefully) Drew Sygit - a man of great integrity, knowledge and drive -
All of you (and many more) bring joy to my days...
Linda Angér, gratefully
Drew, thanks so much for your acknowledgement. This is the work of a leader, so thanks for modeling that so well.
Keep making the difference you do for me and the entire community.
