Growing digital marketing company is searching for a Senior Sales Specialist with responsibility for the SE Michigan territory. We are seeking a results-oriented, entrepreneurial salesperson with a strong knowledge of business and marketing. The ideal candidate has experience and a proven track record in generating leads and closing sales, has existing contacts, and is able to talk strategically to top management of companies. This is a sales management job -- the individual selected for this position must know how to develop and manage a company's sales program.


Our firm provides Website Design, Search Engine Optimization, and Social Media Marketing services. We work with companies and organizations of various sizes and industries, from microbusinesses to large, international $100 million manufacturing companies. We have a depth of experience in marketing, business and technology, specifically in helping businesses succeed online. By taking a holistic view of website design and online marketing, we help companies get the most out of their budgets to target the right people in the right places with the right message.


 






Responsibilities





Principal Duties & Responsibility


As Senior Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for the development, execution, and management of prospecting and sales efforts for the company. Working primarily with small to mid-sized businesses, you will represent our full suite of solutions. This is a player-coach role and will carry an individual quota. As revenues increase, you will have the opportunity to grow your sales team.




Tasks



  • Manage and execute the sales process from initial prospecting to close of the sale

  • Establish a strategic sales plan and vision

  • Actively generate new leads with targeted businesses through various prospecting activities, including cold calling, canvassing, customer referrals, and partner relationships

  • Develop sales presentations with the assistance of marketing and other personnel

  • Attend networking events and trade shows

  • Cultivate local business partnerships and organizational affiliations

  • Maintain accurate and quality sales records and prepares sales activity reports as required

  • Cultivate relationships at all levels within existing and prospective client organizations

  • Drive the highest level of client service by managing the pre- and post-sales processes

  • Take ownership of total customer satisfaction

  • Other duties as assigned


 






Qualifications





Skills



  • Excellent negotiating, interpersonal, communication, and strategic planning skills

  • Active learning and listening to build customer relationships

  • Ability to work independently

  • Comfortable making cold calls

  • Ability to determine when a prospect is not a good fit for the company

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop talent

  • High degree of integrity, perseverance and patience

  • Must be able to work nights and weekends (primarily for networking event attendance) *

  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office applications and Internet

  • Experience working with a CRM system

  • Ability to hit the ground running


 



Education



  • High School diploma required -- some college preferred


 



Experience



  • Minimum 3 years of sales management experience

  • Ideal candidate has sales experience in the digital marketing services field

  • Consultative selling experience

  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding goals

  • Must have experience in building a sales team

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation skills and relationship management

  • Strong business acumen, keen business analysis skills, and strong, mature judgment
