A month from today most people will be wondering what the heck happened to summer. Do yourself a favor and really notice the moments you experience between now and then. Soak 'em up. Stop what you're doing and breathe deeply. See if you can do that without smiling. I bet you can't ;-) Make sure to do this often. Life is short. Live it up!

Buy Michigan Now Festival

This weekend is the Buy Michigan Now Festival. It promises to be a great time filled with opportunities to get more connected with our great state. There's music, food and big ideas from all over the mitten. I hope you'll consider supporting US (as a state) however you can.

MCC Live has new homes

I'm gonna miss the stir-fry at BD's and while we are staying in Royal Oak at The Oxford Inn, we have moved the Novi location about 5 miles North and 2 miles East to The Uptown Grill. To make it even more entertaining we have moved the date from the 1st Tuesday of the month to the 2nd Tuesday of the month (starting in September). The Royal Oak meeting will stay on the 4th Tuesday of the month (starting this month).

The OKE "stuff the shelf" event

Will you help Operation: Kid Equip get ready to help thousands of students in the metro area have the supplies they need for school? We have an opportunity to come together on Saturday, August 13 for the greater good. Can YOU take some time, spend some money and be part of the change we need to see in the D? RIP Mike Whelan

There isn't enough time to say all the good things there are to be said about Mike Whelan. He passed away Tuesday evening from complications related to heart surgery and there is a service for him this Saturday, August 6th.
