Find your flow
When Oprah revealed "the Secret" in February, 2007, she made an
EXCELLENT point about people finding the current of their life and
riding with it. I call that "finding your flow".
Everyone of us is here for a reason. We put ourselves here at the
exact time we did so we can have and share the experience of being
here. The having and sharing all should be good. Why else would we
want to be here?
We realize that there are times when good doesn't happen, so we just
take the good from the experience. I think of golf. There are 87
different ways to mess up a shot. If you look at your ball after you
hit, you can always find 1 good thing with it. Focus on that and lose
the rest.
The flow of your life takes place as directed by you. Awareness of
the signs that are placed to guide you, will often put you in the spot
you need to be. If you truly thing about what you want and focus on
it, you will create ways of getting it.Too many of us don't take the
time to pay attention. We keep saying we live in a fast moving world.
That's true, but only when we let it be.
The world moves as quickly as you let it. When you don't pay attention to the things you are trying to create, opportunities keep getting missed. As those things that you want keep alluding you because of you, the belief that things pass you by is reinforced. Change your beliefs about time. Change your beliefs about your abilities to manifest.
Once you believe you can manifest, you will start looking for proof of your ability to do so. If you set your intentions clearly and share them with the universe, there is little doubt that you will attract what you seek. The key is you have to take action when you are inspired to do so.
The cool thing is the action will seem like a great thing to do. If you pay enough attention to the sign, you will realize that taking the prescribed action will allow you attract the desired end result. If you know you are doing something that allows you to have what you seek, the doing almost always becomes easier. You can take your time with it, because it will be an enjoyable thing.
When you are in the flow of your life, your life will flow in the direction you choose.
Talk about interesting. My dad did a great job of getting his flow.
He accomplished amazing things and grew a solid business. My mother
actually did exceptional in directing producing and choreographing
plays, but didn't find her flow in the business end.
The flow only stops when you let it. To let it, you have to observe
it and know what it is. The signs are always there for your
observation. Take the time to read them, because you put them there.
I like living in the flow. You will too.

Terry, great post and I'm interested in how come you've not gotten any replies to it. Perhaps you've scared us off with that word "spiritual" or, secularity be warned, "religion"?
I had a really inspiring and intriguing conversation with another MCC member last week. We met to as a "get to know you" meeting and share ideas on supporting one another. As I was explaining a bit of who I am, I mentioned my recent "spiritual" journey on becoming Catholic.
Now judgment about various denominations aside, our conversation quickly turned to one of the differences between religion and spirituality and the various ways people do or do not practice, believe, or LEVERAGE spirituality.
I capitalize the word LEVERAGE for a reason and here it is: Spirituality is one of the most overlooked resources we have in tapping into OUR OWN power and that of others. My opinion is that we overlook it because we've done a terrific job of putting "spirituality" into the category of "religion". And that's a conversation for another day.
Consider this - people avoid being fully connected to the following: Self, Others and God/Spirit/Universe/Life. This happens in three automatic and predictable ways:
1) We focus on SELF only - this leaves us isolated, protected and perhaps connected to our self, but not always. We are definitely protected from OTHERS and/or the DIVINE. We likely know people like this - they make lots of demands and rarely inquire about you or how they can help or support you.
2) We focus on OTHERS only - this has us be subservient, giving ourselves and our power to others, leaving us unserved, and/or disconnected from our SELF and/or the DIVINE. We also know people who are so focused on others that they consistently give away all of their power and remain stuck in their lives.
3) We create a short-cut from SELF to DIVINE - this looks like people trying to get to personal enlightenment by avoiding people or certain people. These might be the people we know who profess their connection to the Divine yet shun any contact, support or community with other people.
Now, there's nothing wrong with any of the above. They are all possible ways of interacting with people and the rest of the world.
And when we focus only on one of those areas, it's the way we completely deny full power and possibility in our lives (and businesses).
So here's a suggestion - the most powerful relationship we can have is this model:
a) Draw a triangle on a piece of paper
b) Label one corner Self, one corner Others, and one corner Divine (however you define that)
c) Know that the ideal shape of the triangle is one that is equilateral - all sides and angles equal
When we're connected to Self, Others and the Divine in an equal manner (or at least striving for that), we step completely into our full power and possibility. We see every connection as a pathway to the other connections.
So how come we'd want to have it this way? It all boils down to connection:
Here are a few questions to explore this concept further:
1) Where and when do I avoid other people?
2) Where and when do I blame other people or situations for my present circumstances?
3) Where do I give away my power to external factors such as "the economy" or "the industry" or "my prospects"?
4) Where do I depend entirely upon others to move projects forward?
5) What scares me about Divine/Spirit/God/Life/Universe?
6) What's possible for me if I were connected to all three: Self, Others, Divine?
There's likely a reason you're involved in the business, personal and spiritual communities in which you are because you're seeking connection - connection to results both personally and professionally.
Take some time this week to explore where you're not connected. Once identified, create some action to get connected. Call up a past business colleague. Call your family. Go to church. Read a book. Meditate. Go out for a few beers with a buddy. Volunteer at a homeless shelter. Acknowledge someone. Get a massage.
You'll be amazed at how connected you really are.
Happy Connection,
-Coach Preston
Nice posts gentleman,
I like to draw a circle and place self, others and divinity in the middle because I feel we are all part of the same spirit. "What you do to others you have done unto me."

Great posts that I just read for the first time.
Preston - I think of these 3 parts of life as a balancing act. It is always swaying back and forth. The better we become at balance in our lives, the better we are able to not just find contentment but have a life beyond our wildest dreams. I think of it like yoga - with a little bit of practice you can find that perfect balance over and over again.
