The Network Director reports to the President/CEO and is a member of the senior leadership team. The Network Director is responsible for overseeing the architecture, engineering, acquisition, and 24/7 operations of the Merit Network. The Merit's Network is a hybrid of facilities-based, fiber optic and circuit-based connections with the goal of increasing company-owned fiber plant. The Network Director is responsible for the operations of network-based services and the development of some of the network-based services provided to Merit's membership. The Network Director will also represent Merit nationally and regionally to peers, partners, customers and vendors. As a key member of the leadership team, the Network Director will contribute to overall company strategy and staff development. The Network Director will have a large portion of the Merit staff reporting either directly or indirectly, and must be a skilled, empowering and positive leader.
Merit is a team-oriented culture that exists only for the benefit of its community, and the Network Director must demonstrate a strong faith in Merit's values: community, integrity, people and innovation.
Merit is a 501 (c) 3 Not-For-Profit, incorporated in the State of Michigan for the purpose of operating a regional, high-performance educational and research computer network and offering network-based services to the research and education community within Michigan and nationwide.
www.merit.edu Although Merit Network is Not-For-Profit, it provides mostly fee-for-service and therefore operates under many standard business principles.

This is an outstanding position.
All-
Merit has done wonderful work in the Internet space for years and has really helped our educational systems stay connected.
Terry,
I am not sure what or if there are any rules to posting so if I cross any lines please tell me before you get dissatisfied.
I am simply arbitraging information across multiple networking groups.
