MLM

What is the deal with MLM (multi level marketing) companies?

What have you experienced on both ends of the spectrum? I never drank the water but have heard success stories from those who have.... honestly, no concrete proof but stories. I am wondering if there is anyone out there who can share from both ends?

I definately do not want to buy into one - for those reading this thinking I am asking about selling pills, potions, drinks, and vacations... just interested in the feedback from those who have and are today!
