We are currently seeking a Segment Buyer to join our team in Novi, Michigan.

Essential Job Functions:
• Research and source new items and product lines for our internal customers and core markets.

• Reduce cost of items purchased.
• Keep inventory levels at an approved level while capitalizing on opportunities.
• Coordinate/Communicate new product and product lines launches to the entire company.
• Maintain and generate relationships with vendors.
• Attend trade show and make vendor visits.
• Review daily reports of open sales orders, open purchase orders and inventory levels and distribution centers.
• Create inventory SKU, process purchase orders and sales orders as needed.
• Evaluate product for purchase.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Bachelor's degree in industry
• Minimum of 3 years related experience
• Spot buying experience
• Negotiation training and experience
• Good phone etiquette
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Must be proficient on PC based computers
• Ability to listen to the needs of the staff and service your internal customers
• Must be able to multi task at an extreme level
• Must have an internal make it happen quality
• Must be able to sell yourself and your abilities
• Willing to work extra hours to get the job done
