K-12 Account Manager Job Description


Position: K-12 Account Manager (Novi, MI)
Reports To: Director of Business Development & Vice President of Operations

Sales Responsibilities
• Cold Calls to develop sales contacts.
• Face to face sales calls
• Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction
• Develop new commercial and commodity sales
• Service existing accounts
• Continually earn new customers
• Customer calls to maintain current contacts.
• Periodic sales trips to build on existing relationships.
• Send P.O.S. (Point of Sale Materials) Flash faxes, mailers and E-mails.
• Attend national and regional shows when relevant.
• Facilitate the sending of samples to customers when necessary through our Sample Department and/or be able to do it by yourself
• Research - use office resources, internet and other forms of info to develop new leads.
• Develop new product concepts
• Fully understand territory unique needs
• Work closely with management to achieve sales objectives - offering the essential products, developing territory specific pricing, generate marketing material
• Maintain and grow profit margins
• Continually cross-sell and up-sell high profit items and overstocked inventory
• All tasks as assigned by management
• Attend and participate in weekly sales meetings
• Make oral presentations
• Test new products and provide feedback to management
• Answer customer complaints professionally, speak to management, then offer effective and swift resolution in the most cost effective manner
• Track progress on a monthly basis to ensure goals are being met
• Complete sales worksheet, to include weekly goals and achievements, at the end of every week


 


Order Responsibilities
• Process sales orders.
• Assist in arranging for freight on your orders with our Logistics Team.
• Ensure delivery and follow up with freight coordinator for sales orders.
• Submit orders for invoicing on sales orders.
• Review invoices and confirm accuracy of paperwork for billing.
• Confirm freight invoices for sales orders.
• Work with Purchasing on Direct Shipments (Direct Ships)
• Research, negotiate with and contract with carriers to deliver orders
• Research, negotiate with and contract with local distributors to deliver orders


Inventory Responsibilities
• Sample and help make decisions on new product.
• Review and assist with monthly flyer.
Computer programs & Responsibilities
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
• Sales Logix
o Updating and maintaining accounts in CRM
o Maintain CRM with all tasks, to-dos and appointments
• Mas-90
• Mozilla Firefox
• Microsoft Windows
• Crystal Reports
• West Fax
