Am considering an internet barter site with about 100+ members who are mostly out of sate. I would like to know what the pros' and cons of the business are. If you've had experience, please rrply.

I have been a part of one official barter group and several that are barter arrangements with people.
I am a fan of using the universal barter system, cash. It gets hard to equate value for services, and I have found that "barter" means that I don't really value your service enough to pay for it. My question then is do you really need it.
Think long and hard before joining a barter group. It can be great for exposure, but at the end of the day you can end up doing work and not seeing the return on your investment (of time etc) that you were anticipating.
