Announcing a new GET TO WORKshop - enroll now
Announcing:
New GET TO WORKshop
As of May, 2010, labor statistics state that it takes an average of 33 weeks for someone to find a new job. The number is higher for higher-level positions. What if you could knock a week off of that statistic, or five weeks, or 25 weeks?
Starting June 1, we will run the 6h version of GET TO WORKshop. We've learned a lot in the past five iterations of these sessions, and this will be the best yet. Here is the LinkedIN event posting:

Announcing a five-week GET TO WORKshop curriculum, consisting of:
- Five weekly, in-person meetings, dealing with resume-writing, cover letters, on-line presence and job-boards, interviewing, follow up, branding, networking, and support, along several other topics and advice on landing a new opportunity
- All meetings to be held in Livonia (Mt. Hope Church) on Tuesday evenings (5:30 pm - 7:15 pm) - I may plan a different type of session for remote folks
-
Most topics presented will be by me, but we may schedule an outside presenter for specific topics, if requested by the group
-
16+ attendees required (not more than 28) to make the sessions interactive, cost-effective, and worthwhile
-
A one-hour weekly conference call will be scheduled (late each week) to recap the week, communicate new thoughts, share ideas, get going for the next week - we have a conference call line in place
-
We will use some guerrilla techniques in cover letters, resumes, and action plans, but we will NOT use the guerrilla curriculum
-
Weekly tasks will be assigned to ensure progress toward the end-result of a job
-
I will personally edit any resume, cover letter, thank you letter, action plan, follow up documentation or anything else you want edit-assistance with
-
I will be available for personal one-on-one sessions when needed, or 1-2 additional meetings may be scheduled, and when the series ends, I will remain available for contact and advice on an ongoing basis.
-
Cost will be $195 per attendee (for all sessions). I plan to spend a minimum of 20 hours per week preparing and setting up for meetings, as well as performing the editing work required and phone counsel.
I want to make this GET TO WORKshop the most productive session we have had, with people accountable for getting work. It's time to get people to work, and hopefully we can do that together. We've had some success in previous workshops and we're better now, with more experience, some unique techniques, more personal attention and more accountability.
Reserve your seat (up to 28), and send a check to Human Transitions, LLC, 19947 Edgewood, Livonia, MI 48152. All checks will be held until start date; if less than 16 people enroll, checks will be returned, and the session will be canceled or postponed.

If you have any questions, or would like to discuss what we will cover, feel free to email me at cmac@humantransitions.com, or call my office at 248.238.7214
We have done these sessions in the past, some for free, and some for fee. We have found that the fee courses get a better commitment, more accountability, and more success. They also allow more prep time, more one-on-one time, and a better result. However, our fee sessions were much higher-priced in cost, so we are trying to bring down the cost so that we can include as many people as possible, while ensuring a quality result. Isn't it worth $195 to get the tools to jump-start, or re-vitalize, your job-search?
