Ever wonder why giver's gain?

I just sent this blast:

If you have been in any structured networking group, you have heard the statement, givers gain (or some variation of it). It's true. The more you give to your network, the more you receive from it. But why? If you're interested click HERE to learn more.

Here's a great opportunity to Give and Receive!

Daniel Ottney is a sales trainer and a darn fine one at that. He wants to work with you to get you past your fear of cold calling (and if you're not afraid he will make you one of the best cold callers ever). You will receive knowledge that you will then use to give back to Blightbusters. After the class, you will call a list of Blightbusters supporters asking them for what they can give at this time. Practice makes perfect! RSVP HERE.

I don't have this 100% confirmed but it looks like Charlie Wollborg will be joining us for lunch at Black Finn. I wonder what he has up his magical little sleeve. Be there at 11:15 to find out.

Last night I made 25 personal introductions between potential referral partners within my network. Givers do gain!  I get 100% of my business by referral.  The referrals come from people in my network (non lawyers, who are various business professionals) who hear of situations where someone needs legal advice or representation and they suggest the person call me.  The other portion of my business is consulting with attorneys who are not on my referral team, to help them generate more business.  Again, my "non attorney" network sends me prospective consulting clients.

I keep my eyes and ears open for opportunities to give back to my network of business professionals who send me business and referrals.  When I'm meeting with someone and they say I'd like to know someone in the XYZ industry, I make a personal introduction between those two people when it is mutuall beneficial to do so.  That's what I spent 4 hours last night doing, connecting people within my network who are in the target markets of one another.  The response I get back is typically gratitude for thinking of them and putting them together and then singing their praises after they've had a chance to meet one another.  That's a triple win for everyone involved!

Don't be afraid to give, in fact it could be the best thing you ever did.  At a minimum it will enhance your brand as a well connected caring person.

All my best,

Lori
