Losing your memory? How do YOU learn best?
So often we think we are losing our memories (minds), when in reality we are overly stressed with too much on our (mental) plates. When we put our focus on something we find of great value and are present in the moment, remembering names, where we put things and keeping the daily schedule in our minds is much easier.
When you set your keys down (or whatever it is you frequently misplace) say out loud, "I am setting my keys on . . ." Look at where you put the keys too. This forces you to be in the moment while listening, speaking, touching, and seeing where you've put something. When you use multiple senses at once, you triple the reinforcement of what you want to remember.
Also, we are not only right or left or whole brain learners, we also learn from different senses. We learn best at certain times of the day and our past experiences learning and our current attitude about learning also play an important role. We often overlook the EMOTIONAL component of learning, which is equally as important as all the other components combined.
We are complex learning puzzles. Once you learn HOW you learn BEST and focus on learning by capitalizing on your strengths versus always trying to improve your weaknesses, learning becomes fun and easy. Each of us have a genius inside SCREAMING to get out! What's your genius? And what's stopping you?
