If you had a fire, would you know exactly what you lost?
The best and easiest way to expedite your claim along with your insurance company is to have an inventory of what you own. Personally, I would find it impossible to know exactly what I have. So why not inventory it? One of the better ones that I have seen is free, and they give you an option to save it to a data center. (If you don't use the data center, make sure you get a copy of your inventory to a family member, fire proof safe, etc.)
After you have done this you'll be amazed at all the junk you have; but if you want to replace it at least you'll have a list to go from. I would also recommend that you sit with your agent and review the list and see if there is a better way to insure some of the items you have listed.

Hope it helps!
