The Best Things in Life are Free!
Good Morning Everyone!
Have you ever had one of those weeks where you are reminded about how good things are if you just stop and look around? I had one of those weeks last week. It was a week that reminded me that I am over due for a speeding ticket. It was a week that reminded me that there are a bunch of really good people in the world. But most of all, it was a week that reminded me of how much I love my job. I know that we all have things about our job that we like more than others and for me the favorite part of my job is showing up in a new place and talking to people about how they have the ability to change the dynamics of what they do and at the same time have more fun in their job!
The official name for this event is "Strategies From The Streets" but the actual name should be "The Best Things In Life Are Free". Some of you may be aware of the song by the same name, but for those of you too young to remember Sam Cooke, Bing Crosby, Al Jolson or Frank Sinatra, here are some of the lyrics that I think are most meaningful to my point:
Flowers in springThe robins that singSunbeams that shineThey're yours and they're mineLove can come to everyoneBest things in lifeThey're freeAll of the good thingsEvery one of the better thingsThe bestBest things in lifeThey're free
Here is the point. We ALL have things in our lives that are fabulous. We ALL have things in our lives that we appreciate. We ALL have things in our lives that we love to do. Do not forget to embrace these things. Remind yourself about how much fun your job and life can be if you just let it. Have a great week and remember that the "best things in life are free!"

Great post Mary. thanks for the reminder.
A few years ago I started measuring my life by the moments as opposed to the days, weeks or months. Guess what? I haven't had a bad day since. It's virtually impossible to have a bad hour let alone a whole day.
When one changes what they measure and how they view things, most other things in life change too.
I love this line: Remind yourself about how much fun your job and life can be if you just let it.
I have been saying: love the moments you live and you will live the moments you love.
Love life.
