Don't be the Turtle

Reading about someone else's bankruptcy will never help you avoid your own. Get to work. The future lies ahead.
What has happened, has happened.
Your economy starts to improve the moment you take charge of it. Quit waiting for someone else to take the lead. Ten years from now, you'll regret the three years you spent "turtled" in your shell waiting for the economy to improve.

Charlie this is an awesome message.
I will suggest that there is one instance where we need that shell...to keep all that crap news away from us. It only serves to distract. Turn it off. Anything you NEED to know will find you. Block it out and start doing so now.
Stop participating in any conversation that talks about "how bad it is". That conversation only attracts more of the same.
Thanks for the reminder that we always need to keep moving forward!

I need to agree with Terry, this is an awesome message from Charlie. You need to get away from the negativity and focus on self-improvement while concurrently jobsearching. And developing a parallel path for yourself. I had given-up on my search for awhile, but now I'm back into more searching, research and networking and trying to connect with those folks that can help me while I try to help them.

Amen!!!
I stopped watching and listening to the news years ago. Recently, I've also stopped reading the news. And it's true, the news I need to know ALWAYS reaches me. This assists me in focusing on the positive and seeing all the potential that exists every day. (And I still feel this way even though my husband has been out of work since December.)
In order to really listen, it is necessary to internalize what is being said so that you can understand it. Internalizing (listening) to negative information is like eating small amounts of toxins. If you ingest enough of it, it's going to do some real damage.
So I say, unplug from the media machine!!! (Okay, I'll get off my soap box now)
