Ben Franklin- Curious, talented, Cultured, Comfortable in many settings, lots of great ideas
Mark Twain-Clever, Rapier Wit, Sweet Mustache and the only one who knows the whereabouts of Jim
Epictetus-Greatest. Philosopher. Ever.

I was thinking of this but in the sense of a 4 person round of golf. Here's the first 3...though probably not historical.

Reason...all were at the pinnacle of their career at one point or another and I'd want to find out what drove them. How did they achieve the level of success when others who may have been more talented didn't reach the pinnacle.
Round One
Catherine the Great, Kathrine Hepburn, and Anais Nin: All three challenged the "roles" assigned to women in their time, lived their lives as they chose (sometime scandalously), and were, for the most part, widely respected.
Round Two
Hermann Hesse, Carl Gustav Jung, and (although contemporary) Milan Kundera. All three wrote deeply psychological books. The work of Hesse and Jung have a huge impact on my life throughout my life. Oddly enough, they were colleagues -
