My new job that I started on 1/19/09 has laid me off as of today!
So if anyone needs a help desk/customer support/PC guru in training/trainer type person....here I am!!!

I can totally relate. I started a job on Feb 16th and was laid off on Feb 27th. Sign of times I suppose.
MY question is, why was I hired in the first place, then?!?
Exactly. My boss said he had expected things to pick up in the first quarter, but obviously he did not have a good grip of his 2008 financials. I knew it was coming when the admin staff began working 4 day weeks. But again, if you are not sure, don't bring on new staff. I actually filed for unemployment just to see what would happen, though according to the state, I'm not eligiable b/c I didn't work there long enough. If I were you, I'd give it a shot.
