MCC Troy Breakfast (Feb. 12)

I attended the breakfast in Troy this morning. This was my first event with MCC, and I didn't know quite what to expect. It was an enthusiastic group, with all members sharing and suggesting what each other could do to challenge ourselves, seize opportunities and reach our goals.
I'm pleased to have found this networking opportunity in metro-Detroit and look forward to what's in store! I've already started recommending MCC to others.

Jennifer-
Sounds like you met Mr. Drew Sygit. We at MCC are blessed to have many wonderful leaders like him in our midst.
I am so glad you enjoyed your first experience.
Do let us know what we can do for you.

It was great to meet you, Jennifer!
The beautiful thing about the Troy breakfast was, as Jennifer said, the level of interaction, and our willingness as individuals to challenge each other to get outside our comfort zone and take action.
As a result, Drew has a list of one (or two) things each person at the breakfast is committed to doing by a specific date... and knowing we have to report back to the group is a good motivator!
Let's see if our peers on MCC can offer some assistance on our commitments:)
NATALIE: By 2/27/09 - will have a 1-pg outline of a seminar/workshop for people looking for work that she can hold for $15-20. This workshop will focus on helping thos in transistion with their self-esteem.
MIKE: By next meeting - will connect with volunteers in his non-profit group to better network with them, AND will call his contact at the New York company by the end of the day today to further that relationship.
JENNIFER: By next meeting - Will have LinkedIn & MCC profiles at 100%, and have a 1-on-1 with Managing Director at Meadowbrook to explore ways to get her personal PR and connections through Meadowbrook to aid with job search.
LAURA: By next meeting - Will have LinkedIn, FB, & MCC profiles at 100%, polish website resume, and set up a meeting with one person on the school tech committee to network with.
LINDA: By next meeting - Will have 1-page outline of a "how to write grants" seminar for nonprofit volunteers.
DREW: Will follow up with everyone on these commitments
