Finding Employment in Today's Marketplace
I have just accepted an offer as an independent sales rep for a start-up direct mail company. I am excited for the opportunity, but it is yet another example of the changes that have taken place in the 21st Century marketplace and employment opportunities.
I spent the majority of my working life working for a large family owned corporation (23 years). Since then, I have worked in several different situations and roles. I am a believer that all of these experiences has helped me develop new skills and insights. It is my hope that these experiences have helped prepare me for the challenges that lie ahead. My goal is to be a valued resource for business decision makers, not just a salesman looking to close my next sale.
Any ideas or support that you can offer will be much appreciated.
I am really a firm believer in trying to add value to the businesses that I serve.
Thank You!

Congratulations Bob.
My advice, figure out exactly who your ideal clients and referrals partners are and then craft a message that speaks directly to them.
The more specifically you narrow your target, the more likely you are to reach them.
There are a lot of very wise people and great information on this board. Keep poking around and keep asking questions. You are bound to find what you seek.

Bob,
Great news! Even better news that you are enthusiastic about you new gig.
Two things to think about:
1) Continue networking to grow your business
2) Network to support your colleagues still seeking the next chapter in their business life
