If Lawyers Wrote Greeting Cards
From the Internet:
"This holiday greeting has been reviewed and edited for content by my lawyers.
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, our best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral, celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all ...
... and a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2009, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great, (not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country or is the only "America" in the western hemisphere), and without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith, choice of computer platform, or sexual preference of the wishee."

I am sending this to my compliance people RIGHT NOW
BR
may they approve or disapprove in accordance with their beliefs and statues, implied or otherwise! Thanks, Ben!
This is great. Anytime we can pick on attorneys, we do so. That's what happens when they charge $350/hr only to pass off their work to a 1st yr associate.
I don't see the problem with this greeting...
I think securities regulators like the SEC and FINRA would approve if we add the phrase "...past happy holidays are not a guarantee of future performance."
If we submit it now, we may get approval by the second quarter of 2009.
Thank You, Jeff - I will get the changes to my attorney right away, and thank you for the brilliant suggestion!
