Congratulations to MCC's Fred Saintamour who just published his new book Corporate Infantry: Everything I know about Corporate Sales I learned in Combat.
He's been working on the project for a long time. The book recounts Fred's experiences as an Army Ranger in combat and how those experiences translates into selling in the corporate world.
Learn more on the book's web page by clicking here.
Which brings me back to the subject line. I talk to a lot of folks in MCC who say they'd like to write a book someday (including me). How's it coming? Are you making progress? When are we going to see you in print?
Be like Fred.

Fred... Why don't you let everyone know how they can get an autographed copy!
Thanks
Am I writing a book? Yes I am.
I've interviewed hundreds of executives, entrepreneurs, thought leaders, authors, marketing and brand gurus over the past four years for Total Picture Radio. I can tell you one of the most potent marketing tools you could ever unleash is a book. I am speaking specifically about non-fiction business books. I don't know what's involved in the novel or fiction book markets.
I'll give you a recent example: I recently interviewed a recent Stanford grad named Ramit Sethi. His blog is titled "I'll teach you to be rich" and he had launched a "Save $1000 in 30 days challenge." Several months ago, Ramit got a book deal. Why? First, he has a great agent -- and (here's the hook) - he has over 175,000 readers per month - of his blog. That's called a built-in audience.
You want to speak at conferences and get paid? Write a book. You want to be known as an expert in your field? Write a book. You want instant credibility? Write a book. You want to get a book deal? Write a popular blog with a POV and a distinct, focused subject. Get a audience, get an agent, and you, my friend, can get a book deal. Visit www.totalpicture.com and check out my podcast with Ramit. I really believe within two years he'll be getting speaking fees of $10-$20k - maybe more.
Of all the things I've learned doing a career podcast and having the good fortune to interview everyone from Dan Pink to Clayton Christensen to Keith Ferrazzi -- the single best advice I can give anyone who wants to turbo-charge their career - talk to Fred. Write a book.
