An unbelivable act of giving.
I came acrossed a story in today's Free Press. It concerned Marilyn Mock who runs a small rockyard business with her three kids. She was attending a forelosure auction with her son to see him bid on a house. While her son was signing the paperwork for another house she wandered over to a woman she saw sitting alone. Being friendly she sat down ans asked are you bidding on a house? There was no answer. She asked again and the woman Tracy Orr started crying. Then she told Mock that one of the houses being auctiioned was hers.
She had lost her good paying job and her new job did not pay anywhere near as much as the one she lost. Soon she fell behind in her payments. The inevitable foreclosure happened. She was there to say good-bye.
Marilyn touched by Tracy's story felt compelled to raise her hand when Tracy's house came up for auction. Several bids and $30,000 later she won the bid. She then turned to Tracy and said, "I did this for you."
In a Samaritan moment she plunked down thirty grand for a person she didn't even know, and had no idea whether Tracy could even pay her back. In fact Marilyn had to take a loan out against her dump truck to pay for the house. In a compassionate moment this lady turned another's day of complete sadness into one of unbridled happiness.
They have since worked out a payment plan where Tracy can pay Marilyn back. They have also become very good friends.
Kinda nice wouldn't you say?
Anyone else have a story to share?
