Congratulations to Beverly Cornell.
Her uber interesting blog Global Business Perspectives was honored at tonight's Helen e-Awards as the blogger of the year.
Beverly is having a huge year. Already featured in Forbes and Business Week, the Helen e-Awards adds another feather to her cap (which is starting to look like a head dress).
Way to go, Beverly!

Global Business Perspectives is the only podcast I consider "don't miss" - -
Congratulation Beverly !!
One thing that stands out in your blog always is the very core "Global". I feel that the regular media misses this part quite a bit ! "Global" helps us to have a bigger perspective. Congratulations again... we are all proud of ya !
Beverly............YOU GO GIRL! Your light shines from the inside out and I am so happy the world is getting to know you also. CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!! Lin
Thank you Linda, Henry and Lin - Your support means so much to me!
For anyone considering blogging - you must know that a strong blog takes a lot of work, time and dedication. I was thinking about a few tips and thought I would share.
1. Pick a topic you love - for me it is global connectedness and business is one way to connect. What do you love? Whatever topic you choose be consistent in your postings. Your readers will come to expect it and they are fickle if you are not.
2. Do you have the money to set up the blog - some services are free, I used a professional organization Portage Media to set up my blog, submit the blog to all search engines and directories and to provide updates and add plugins.
3. Do you have time to create a consistent editorial calendar of posts? I recommend at least 2-3 times per week. You can create posts ahead of time (I often do and take advantage of editing time) and schedule the posts out ahead of time accordingly.
4. Promote your blog on your other social media tools like LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. Extra tip: There is a service at http://ping.fm that you can post once and all of your other accounts will be updated.
Blogs are great ways to create conversations, position yourself as an expert and share your passion. Does a blog make sense for you?
Beverly,
Phenomenal. Glad to hear of your successes.
I look forward to reading about more of them!

Bev: So incredibly well-deserved! And what I (personally) love the most is that you are the human embodiment of "giving" ---- to your community, your social circle, your colleagues, your marketing team(s), your clients. And that's the essence of what collaborative media is all about (as you keep teaching me/us...).
Fantastic.

I love to see other business women doing well and particularly those in my field. Super congrads go out to you. Although we have know of each other and met a couple of times, it is this year that we have begun to develop a "relationship". Keep up the good work. You make all of us proud. Thanks for your hints on blogging, they were heard loud and clear.
