Love the Home You're In
I love this new post from Dave Vanz, probably the hippest and baldest member of MCC.
I purchased my home back in 2002 with the ambitious goal of fixing it up and selling it by 2006. "Suprise, Suprise! That Ain't Happenin'!"
After the housing market decided to take a huge dump, I watched as people scrambled frantically trying to sell their homes with no success.
So here I am. Stuck in a home that I didn't plan on being in at this time, and not satisfied with the shape of the home I'm in.
I can do 2 things:
1. I can suffer for the next 3-5 years living in something that I'm not happy with.
2. I can start making steps to improving the house that I live in.
We've decided our best bet was to "Love the Home We're In"
Our list of "fixer uppers" on the house include:
1. Remodeled bathroom
2. New Driveway
3. New Porch (will likely be a part of the driveway redo)
4. New Siding & Windows.
5. Finish off basement.
6. Full size basketball Court, Swimming Pool, Waterfall, and jacuzzi...(haha, I wish!)
I definitely can't do all these at once, so we decided to start with something we had the budget for....
You can see the before and after photos of the first project on Dave's site, detroitcity.com.
So riddle me this: is it time for you to fix up your nest? There are several contractors on MCC that would love to help (and it's a great way to keep the economy going).
