Charlie - saw you at the Sales & Mktg. cof. last Thursday. Not sure your audience "understood" what your panel was trying to tell them.

Great! Glad to hear it. We face slow adoption to new media/ideas. The possibilities are exciting.
ohh, the pressure to tweet. I've been putting it off for so long. what to tweet about? who would want to read my tweet? what the heck is tweet?

I went to your website - and it looks like you love the art of furniture.
There have got to be some interesting pieces that come through your doors. Or different anecdotes you can share that happen in your day.
No matter your niche - there are other people in the world interested about it. You don't have to be on the track to be a social media consultant to use the tools - in fact, some of the best uses and fun stories are by the people who aren't "social media experts." You could also link to pictures, say during the process.
Twitter is all about knowing people and meeting people and sharing your passion - and so is a lot of social media. I'd love to follow you and learn more about that stuff - and be for darn sure if I or anyone I know need your services, I'm going to the person I know and I know cares about the pieces.
p.s. - showing some of your personality doesn't hurt either :-)
Israel,
That sounded like a good tweet.

I just changed my user name on twitter. does that screw things up for those following me?

I changed my name (added to it) and it didn't change anything for anyone following my tweets.
