Oxide Inhibiting Compound for Aluminum Connections

Hello friends,

I am an electrical contractor for over 35 years and I have always used Penetrox or Noalox on all my aluminum connections. Whether it be conduit, splices, or terminations. Many connectors come with some type of compound in them.
At a recent IAEI meeting it was brought out that we should not be using the compound because it eventually will turn into an insulator. Am I missing something? I've never heard this before. So does anybody have any documentation as to whether or not we should be using an oxide inhibiting compound with aluminum connections? I find many people say things but I like the documentation from a credible source.
