A sample introduction for Hi I'm Here

Greetings-

My name is Terry Bean. I'm a founder of Motor City Connect. I love to help people succeed. I'm always open to helping people find what they seek. It could be new business opportunities, connections or ideas. If you're looking for something, odds are I'm already connected to it through my vast network. 

My work consists of business development consulting, coaching and my disruptive marketing firm. I also do a lot of speaking on the topics of networking, social entrepreneurship, marketing and more.

My wife and I have a beautiful 10 year old daughter who is way too active in too many things. She's awesome. We live on a lake in White Lake and make the most of it every summer and are the reason it gets cold in the winter (gotta have ice to play on the lake in winter).

That took me less than 7 minutes to type.

A couple of points about it:

The first sentence lists my name and a company for whom I work. The second sentence tells you what I do in a very passionate way. Always remember "why you do what you do is more compelling than what you do".

I then list a "what's in it for you" kind of statement. As Theodore Roosevelt said (Mary Kay Ash popularized) people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.

I then say what I do to make money. I probably could have been a little more specific. And I would encourage you to use a line about "a good referral for me is".

I talk about my family and give a little insight there. This is a great place to talk about hobbies or what not.

I included my contact info because I want it to be easy for people to connect with me. You may not feel that way. The caveat is, if you're harder to connect with, don't be surprised when people don't connect with you. 

I wrote out my e-mail address in that funky way so "bots" don't pick it up and spam me.
