Depression; Thicker and Nothing Changes

Everyone always seems so cheery on Motor City Connect.  I've seen some live MCC lectures, Charlie and Terry always seem like great ball of energy bouncing around the speaking "stage".  Most others here seem to be generally optimists who always seem to have a positive outlook on life.

I used to be like that when I joined MCC.Not long ago my business partner and wife were hoping to move up to a luxury building with a playground Downtown . Reality of the recession hit home, and when it rains it pours. Job trouble, school trouble, and health issues all came creeping into our lives like the recent heat wave across America.

Suddenly, every day felt like we were suffering through a 110 degree heat index in peak July with no air conditioning. We clung to any strip of positive anything, and ended up getting screwed over by some people who pretend to be as positive as some here, but are too busy following the 48 Laws of Power, and really aren't interested in helping others or giving back. When a real mentor did come along, we were to big of a mess to help.

Old habits die hard. You know the stories, no visits to your business, shows, or sites. You get so busy, you might not exactly be eating healthy, and then you start getting fat, ruining your own self image.

You start sinking into the quick sand that is manic states. Everytime something else goes wrong, it's like the Nain Rouge is whispering all your missteps, bad luck, and problems in your ear. That lutin can bring you down from your highest high, and even you best friends start to wonder whats wrong with you.

Now, god forbid you crack or buckle under the weight. But, somehow you make it through and keep going. Yeah, you keep going. That's where I am, and just keep going.

Anyway, where are some of you guys? Are you in that cold place with me in your life? Maybe, you already have seen yourself through to something better? If so, how did you keep it all together? What kept your head in the game, and your heart in the ball?

Surely, I'm not alone, right?
