We are all connected...then a most inspiring story

The biggest illusion in this life is the illusion of separation”.

I started watching a program called the avatar on nickelodeon with my daughter years ago when it started (M. Night turned it into a less than cool movie, but that’s another story). The above line about illusion is lifted from one of my favorite episodes when the avatar meets a guru to learn more about life.

Think about our struggle to prove how separate we are. We are so different, aren’t we?

Look at all the different colors of skin and hair and eyes we have. Some of us have birth marks, or wear glasses or speak in a totally different language.

I think its fair to claim that our differences are very much surface dwelling while are similarities go to the depths of our being.

I have heard the phrase six degrees of separation for a long time and I think it is time for us to go. It is our false belief in our separateness that creates most of the nastiness this planet now knows.

Picture a world where we all respected and treated one another as equals. Seems like a pretty nice place to live? Interestingly, that’s where we are right now. We just don’t all acknowledge it as such. I firmly believe that when we ALL start to believe and practice this, the world will be a much better place.

Ask yourself which kind of world you would like to live in. If your answer is one that loves, respects and/or at the very least tolerates others, you need to BE a person who loves, respects and/or tolerates others. The more you can share those feelings with others, the more they will rub off.

Will you help the people on our planet evolve? Keith Stonehouse often quotes Ghandi and says “Be the change you wish to see in the world”. I fully encourage and support this behavior.

MY RUN- The inspiring story of Terry Hitchcock

Have you heard about the man who ran 75 marathons in 75 straight days? This isn’t a joke and there is no punchline. At 57 years old, this man decided to do something to raise awareness of the issues single parents face in our country. He’s not a runner. In fact, day 1 was his first marathon. Crazy, eh? This story caught the attention of lots of people. In fact, Billy Bob Thornton did the narration.

On March 31st on screens all over the country, this inspiring story and 10 time award winning documentary will be shared for one night only. It will play at about 20 Theaters in and around the metro area. You can order your tickets now HERE.

This film will make you believe you are POWERFUL and UNSTOPPABLE (the Director’s favorite phrase). Go see it if you are a runner. Go see it if you are a survivor. Go see it if you are a single parent. Go see it if you need inspiration. Go see it!!

Amen to that! Great post Terry.

or to put it even more succinctly from Mother Teresa. If we all approached every encounter with every human being with this mind set, the world would indeed be better and happier...

"Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier"

Gee Rick, I could have saved a lot of time had I just posted that ;-) Great quotation by an amazing being.

Mother Teresa has been my go to quote source for many years. She lived her life for purely out of love and for the benefit of the "marginalized". She loved and cared for the sick, the poor and the downtrodden in society. An amazing being for sure! She had an uncanny way of taking the complex issues facing those with less and addressing them through the simple act of giving Love and being Love. Unfortunately, its not as easy or as simple as a quote as we know. As Oliver Wendell Holmes once said " I wouldn't give a fig for simplicity this side of complexity but I'd give my right arm for simplicity on the other side of complexity. It's what we don't know that we don't know. It's why Billions and Billions of dollars poured annualy into life coaching and personal empowerment training. We do all we can to become self actualized beings like Mother Teresa. I think its as simple as performing acts of service and kindness for others that make us complete, whole and happy as human beings. I don't think its about having Bernie Madoff sized bank accounts.

Have a peaceful weekend!

Great post... thanks. We need to take more time out to stop everything for a minute and reflect.

Thanks, Keith

Thanks Keith. Its the actual act of taking the time to stop that's the key! That's why Yoga is so popular right now.
