E2detroit 2008 Will Address Michigan's Economic Situation With A Practical Agenda
The October 8th event features stellar speakers and inspiring hands-on sessions
Start-ups are the single most important factor driving a state's economic success, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration's Office of Advocacy. The most recent studies dramatically show that the success or failure rates of small businesses have a profound impact on gross state product, state personal income levels, and total state employment.
This is a trend implicitly acknowledged by Michigan's most influential business leaders. And startups will be fostered and celebrated at E2detroit 2008: Entrepreneurship and Excellence on October 8th, at Wayne State University.

E2detroit, focused on the theme of revitalizing Southeastern Michigan's economy by avidly supporting new and growing businesses and leaders, features exceptional speakers and workshop facilitators.

The day's agenda will be initiated by the inspiring Mary Ellen Sheets, Founder and former CEO of Two Men and A Truck. In her presentation on "Franchising: Proven Strategies for Success." Sheets will share the exciting and humorous story of her family's adventure into franchising, spotlighting important lessons learned.

E2detroit will also feature another "made in Michigan" success story --- David Brandon, President and CEO of Domino's Pizza. Brandon will discuss crucial lessons for business success in his presentation on "Entrepreneurial Spirit and Innovative Thought: Making a Corporate Cultural Norm."

The majority of the day will include pragmatic and thought-provoking panel discussions and workshops on useful topics like:
• Michigan Resources: Familiarize and Utilize to Maximize The Success of Your Business
• The CEO Skillset: Taking It to the Next Level of Leadership
• Michigan's Green Movement -- Creating Jobs While Improving the Environment
• The Legal Expert: Protecting Your Business and Its Intellectual Property
• Online Marketing: The Secrets to Success
• The Art of Sourcing Capital; The Do's and Don'ts....
• ..... and more

E2detroit 2008's illustrious advisory board includes Fortune 500 and small business leaders, influential venture capitalists, state/county/city government officials, academic superstars, and innovative entrepreneurs. It will reflect their thinking and influence, and is designed to meet the practical needs of start-ups, established small business owners, and budding new business leaders ---- all convened to learn, network, and be inspired on their business journeys.

"Entrepreneurship in our state is key to revitalizing Michigan's economy," states Tracy-Anne Palmer, Executive Director for the E2detroit 2008 team. "And Wayne State University's Judy Johncox, Director for Venture Development, has recognized that for a number of years. It is through Judy and her team that E2detroit has taken shape. It will be an event to remember, this fall, for its vital support of successful business leaders, and business leaders of tomorrow."

In today's competitive environment, to succeed you must be extraordinary. The tools and opportunities represented by E2detroit 2008 will help its delegates excel.

E2detroit 2008 will have some incredible speakers --- in addition to David Brandon (CEO of Domino's), Mary Ellen Sheets (Founder and former CEO of Two Men And A Truck), venture capitalist and serial entrepreneur Terry Cross (CEO of Windward Associates),  we will be announcing a MAJOR keynote speaker next week (renowned in our region for positive business influence and supporting Southeast Michigan).  In addition,  Lansing will be well-represented (sssshhhh.....that will take about 10 more days to announce).

You won't want to miss it.
