When is the best time for you to attend networking meetings?

We spend a lot of time scheduling events, gatherings and meetings. We do most of it in a vacuum.  And you know what vacuums do...

Please, either post it here or e-mail privately, but answer:

When is the best time for you to attend meetings?

Thanks-

Terry

Most events(business networking) are better suited for first thing in the morning, while more social networking is best slated for after 6pm.

My best times are M,W,F at lunch or W and F for an after work affair. Thanks!

I prefer the morning (before 9) for networking events.  I work late and when I am done, it is family time.  My young boys awake at the crack of dawn, so I am already up!!

I am sitting here laughing at myself. I was thinking "Great, I am not the only one who likes mornings!" However, I am looking at the time of the posts and lo and behold they are all in the morning.

I guess the afternoon and evening people haven't replied yet.

Ditto for me that evening is family time and with the kids out of school in the summer, just about anytime is tricky. I can just barely attend to required commitments. Even though the optional commitments are about "sharpening the saw", I have to take care of current business first.

I am enjoying the summer but am excited about getting back to business full time in the fall. I have a very long to do list.

I can fit almost any time into my schedule.  However, I am sharpest after 11am.

Lots of morning folk in this group. I guess we will see how comitted I am to MCC. If I start attending breafast meetings at 7:30 a.m. (or worse, before 7:30) you will know I like you guys.

While like Greg Wolf, I am sharper after 11 a.m., I love working at 11 p.m. and beyond.

Keep the answers coming gang. This is really helpful information.

I will have to agree with the morning crowd. Best times for me to attend business networking events would be between 7:30am-9:00am. As far as the "sharpness" meter, it depends if I had my morning coffee or not. Social networking events are better on Wednesday or Thursday between 5-7pm.

See you all later.

Mornings starting at 8:30 to late afternoon (4:30) are my ideal networking times.  An "after hours" event is something I limit to once a month.

I like 9:00 or 9:30 a.m.  right after my son goes to school.:)  Thanks for starting this discussion Terry.  LOVED meeting with you, Lisa and George in Novi last Thurs.  Did you remind people NOT to go to Novi Connect THIS Thurs.. LOL!:)

Between 9-9:30 a.m. as a start time would be grand--after the munchkin goes to school.:)

Hi Terry,

Lin's answer made me laugh. As one of the self employed, guilty as charged! I never like morning meetings since that is my black out period for writing. (Hey can't fight the muse!) :-) 1 pm - 4pm is usually better for me. Evenings are never good. Interested to see the results.

Early morning or late afternoon.  I am definitely a morning person.  My day can't start soon enough.  Late afternoon to finish up after my day of appointments.  Your recent MCC from 3-5 was right on target.  The fam keeps me pretty busy in the evenings.

Friday's at 6 p.m. are good for me.

Terry,

Thanks for asking the question.  For networking/educational events I prefer lunch (1st priority) or morning (2nd priority).  For networking/social events I prefer evening (after 5pm).

Regards,
Dale

I enjoy the lunch meetings best.  Most people I'm trying to get ahold of are out of the office around lunch time anyways, so lunch meetings offer me opportunity to meet others and build relationships.
