Well, I can only participate for another year in this - but this is great!

Well I've got a little bit longer than Keith does, but I couldn't agree more - I'm super excited!!

Hello All!

Just wanted to introduce myself as a 20-something up-and-comer! I look forward to connecting with you!

Ladies, please join me at an upcoming Inforum Young Professionals event. Inforum is the premier professional women's alliance here in Detroit.

I am also looking for ambitious, entrepreneurial women interested in a career in training & leadership development. I offer referral bonuses to men as well!

Contact me for details.

Well, I have one more year left to be part of the cool club LOL

But I am going to ride it out while I still can...

As MY clock ticks down to 30 let's get something going with this group of great professionals under 30! Let's make an impact on not only local business here in Michigan but make a mark in the community as well (ie. Blightbusters, Boys & Girls Clubs, Special Olympics, etc)

Let's atleast get a group together (let's even call it a Mastermind) and put some great things together making a mark for those of us in the community UNDER 30!

Thanks, Keith Stonehouse

Under 30 Team:

What events could we participate in or offer to the MCC community that features something unique to our demographic?

A few ideas:

  • Training for teens on the importance of professional development. We can offer something to empower them to acheive great things, without feeling limited by age.

  • Volunteerism--obvious. I'm not sure that this is necessarily unique for the "under 30" group.

  • Information on hiring our demographic (http://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/stories/2008/05/05/focus27.html)

Other ideas?

The Boy's & Girl's Clubs of Southeastern Michigan is a great start as they are currently looking for basketball coaches and volunteers for programs across Southeastern Michigan. Special Olympics of Michigan is a great avenue as well with events and fundraising.

I can definately put something together with the Boy's & Girl's Clubs work on Shauna's idea: Training for teens on the importance of professional development. We can offer something to empower them to acheive great things, without feeling limited by age - As well as volunteerism.

How about happy hour events getting friends and colleagues together raising money or putting together a can drive. How about all together like we do with Blightbusters and make a change... open up our arms and let the community we are here to help!

Let me know what you think... if anything we can organize a group meeting focused on moving forward on all of the above!

PS. Don't forget to register to vote and ACTUALLY vote!

Thanks, Keith Stonehouse

Under 30 MCCers--

What's your availibility for the week of Nov 3-7? I'd like to get together to make some plans for our group! There have been some great ideas thrown around--let's get this started!

Shauna

I have a feeling that our group will be so successful that it will become the under 32 group, then maybe the under 35.

Anyway, I like the direction this is going in and Shauna, I am available the week of Nov. 3-7 to discuss further.  I think we would have a lot to offer teens in many areas and am glad that Keith has the ball rolling with the Boy's and Girl's Club.  Additionally, I think there may be other resources we can go to (other youth homes and youth organizations) that perhaps don't get quite as much attention and could really benefit from us.

Just a thought...

I look forward to meeting everyone!

I'd be interested to hear what you guys have in mind and depending on time and place, you can more than likely pencil me in.

Let's all agree that our time is important and let's make sure that this is productive.

-Adam

In the interest of time, we can Skype for an intitial meeting. Let me know if that works best for anyone. We need to pull in more people. Try and get the word out--even for under 30s outside of MCC! Engaging friends in networking and building business initiatives will only help them!

I don't have access to Skype, so you'll have to fill me in with notes of the meeting.  Thanks.
