Dear Friends at MCC,                                                                       June, 2008

I am happy to be riding again this year in the Make-A-Wish WAM 300 (300 miles in 3 days).  The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses.  This will be my 6th year riding with Team Alex.  Last year Team Alex was the number one team and raised $187,379 towards a grand total of $1,340,000.  That was enough to grant 167 wishes and $400,000 more than the previous year.  This year the goal is to grant 200 wishes.

The route is the same as last year (Traverse City to Big Rapids to St John's to the finish in Chelsea).  Quite an effort, but not nearly what these kids and their families have to go through on a daily basis.  These courageous children serve as a source of inspiration and motivation to all the riders.  Please help us grant wishes to these kids by writing a check to Make-A-Wish of Michigan and mailing it to me by July1st.

Suggested donations:  15 cents per mile = $45

                                             20 cents per mile = $60

25 cents per mile = $75.........Well, you get the point

REMEMBER, writing the check is the EASY part, I'm doing the HARD part !!!

Check to see if your employer has a matching funds program.  Many companies will match 1:1 or even 2:1 as long as you include their form when you send me your donation.  Make-A-Wish will take care of the rest.

Go to the Make-A-Wish website:  www.wishmich.org and scroll down on the left to "WAM".  You can read all about this amazing weekend.  You can also make a contribution on my personal page at:  http://netcommunity.wishmich.org/NETCOMMUNITY/Page.aspx?pid=191&srcid=214&frsid=627

Thanks in advance for your generous support,

Michael

Michael,

Thank you for sharing the details of your wonderful contribution, very admirable. What a rewarding experience. It is great to be a part of MCC and associate with people like you. Best of luck on your ride! Cannot wait to hear the details afterwards, I cannot imagine the work put into training for that event.

Michael, Would love to know how the ride went! Please update us!
