My wife and I love anything that makes our boys' eyes light up. We recently had a chance to tour of the new SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium at Great Lakes Crossing. Lanagan and Cooper's eyes were wide with visions of sharks and sea horses and rays and turtles and sea stars and 5,000 other fish.

They loved the walk through tunnels with sharks and giant rays swimming overhead (similar to the Arctic Ring Of Life At The Detroit Zoo) and the pop up bubbles that allowed them to get up close and personal with all sorts of sea creatures.
Lanagan peppered Lucy, the Aquarium Curator/SCUBA instructor/most patient person in the world, with a thousand questions about why the sharks weren't eating all the other fish and even challenged her to a smarty pants trivia contest.

Stuck inside? No worries. Set up an obstacle course in the living room.
Our boys dressed up in their favorite costumes (currently, Disney Junior's Miles From Tomorrowland), rearranged some cushions from the sofa and timed them on the iPhone. They had a ball, cheered each other on and got some great exercise. They even challenged mom and I to race a few times.
Now we have a leaderboard in the mudroom tracking everyone's best times. Great free fun.
