Calling ALL Lovers Of, In and Around the Motor City #313DLove
I just sent this blast:
Maybe you've heard about #313DLove by now. It was a simple idea started two years ago to get people to share what they love about Detroit. Why? Because, just like humans, cities are organisms that need love too. I can't think of any place that needs more Love than Detroit (that's one of the reasons Motor City Connect began, but I digress).
Visit the Love for Detroit website
So this big love fest took place on Twitter. And I mean it was big. Really big. Like trended worldwide on Twitter and generated thousands of tweets big. And it happened again in 2013.
This year, we are bringing that Love to the real world. On March 13, at the Charles Wright Museum of African American History, some of our areas top notch Doers and Makers will take the stage and share their stories and ideas to move ALL of Detroit forward. Think of it like a TED talk, with heart.

This will be a great day full of passion, creativity, empowerment and more. Shawne Duperon will talk about the power of forgiveness, Rod Hairston will talk about the power of mindset and having the right identity. You'll hear from a Rabbi Pinson who moved his family of 7 to the city. Menachem Kniespeck and John George will share how they each saw a need and decided to be the change we all need to see in Detroit by starting non-profits that continue to do great work every single day...and that's just half of the docket.
We are working on being able to stream this event so more people can take part since there are only 313 seats available. If YOU want to join us live, you should probably GRAB YOUR TICKET soon as they won't last long.
Oh yeah, I will have a pair of tickets to raffle off at next week's MCC Live meeting in Royal Oak on 2/25. Hopefully, I will see you there.

This is a great idea and action. I look forward to update on the success of your event. I am in Arizona and it is great to be part of your community and share what you do and achieve.

Wish I could be there. I just finished reading Detroit City is the Place to Be by Mark Binelli and am so depressed about the City and its outlook. So much truth in that book that it makes you despair. Love the City and wish it and you well.
How did you find us from Arizona Rickey? And thanks for the well wishes.
Constance, thank you for allowing me to elaborate.
Detroit is a dichotomy that is about to fully embrace her 1 and 3's. In numerology 3 means Creativity and 1 represents Leadership. When we who live in what historically was the 313 all realize that we are leaders and doubly creative, imagine what our people can achieve.
This will be a very exciting day for our city and I expect others around the world will experience the Love we share.
We will be streaming this I'm 99% on that. Updates will be forthcoming.
