Rethinking MCC-WWYD?, New "Hi I'm Here" discussion board

I just sent this blast:

As noted in the earlier e-mail this month we are "re-thinking" Motor City Connect. As such, there are no meetings in August. Our goal is, and has always been, to provide value to our members. Otherwise, why do it?

We are discussing going to two meetings a month. One in Royal Oak and one that rotates throughout the area. We will have a list of topics for these meetings WAY IN ADVANCE (that would be new). We are also thinking about incorporating a new homepage that has our twitter feed, LinkedIn feed and facebook feed on it. That makes sense as that's where the people are.

I just don't feel like that's enough. So I ask you...If you were running Motor City Connect, What Would You Do? Feel free to answer here, call me at 248.224.1326 or send me an e-mail: bean at trybean dot com.

New "Hi I'm Here" Discussion board

In thinking about new ways to interact and after reading an e-mail from my friend Vincent Wright this morning it dawned on me: we don't have a solid introduction spot. Sure we've got lots of discussion posts, but nothing for the new person (or anyone for that matter) to come in and say "Hi". 

Well that changes today. Check out the new HI I'm Here discussion board. I have included a sample introduction for those not sure what to write.

I read this on Ray Laethem Motor Village facebook page and it made me laugh: "To cruise or not to cruise. That is the question. Whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer the fumes and traffic up Woodward or set lawn chairs along side the sea of automobiles and by sitting watch them."
