Next week, July 29-August 4 the good people at Life Remodeled are doing a MASSIVE beautification effort over 48 Detroit blocks. It will include boarding up 250 houses, renovating 24 and building one brand new one from scratch. ALL IN ONE WEEK.
How you ask?
PEOPLE POWER!! They estimate it will take 5,000 volunteers working around the clock. All we need out of you is to SIGN UP for a 4 hour shift. Can't do a four hour shift? then make a DONATION (this isn't cash, it's stuff they need to do the work). Can't make a donation? Then please share THIS LINK (you should read it anyway).
Just saw a note from Mark Besh saying that MCC member Bill Fields of American Mattress Gallery in Novi just donated a mattress and a head board. WAY TO GO BILL and AMG team!!!

Is there a needs list? Other than money and (wo)man power I mean!
Is MCC organizing a group to assist with Blight Busters this summer? If so, when is it?
Angela, the list of needs is right in the post itself under "Donations".
I am sure we will Anita. We are working with Life Remodeled on their project next week and I know John George and his team will be there for a bit too.
