Green Sustainable and Affordable Housing
RE: Looking For Investor(s) on New Construction of Green, Sustainable and Affordable Housing AND a resource for receiving energy and tax credits for "Green" construction.
Hello Everyone, I don't think this message went through the first time so here I am again in case you didn't receive it. My name is Luanne Nelson and just joined Motor City Connect. I really look forward to connecting with all of you again especially after seeing such a great crowd last week with John and Murray. Wow, great energy! I'm really excited to be part of such a dynamic group. Thank you.
I have a couple questions that I'd like to throw out there to you all. I apologize for such the long message but think it's important for you to get an overview of what I'm leading up to before asking so it makes more sense.
My friend is working on building a 17 Unit "sustainable and green" condo in the Woodbridge (Wayne State) area to start the earth friendly living in Detroit which will then move to other cities across the U.S and needs some help. She has her prototype almost completed, architects, attorneys and accountants hired, material resources ready, and over 200K of her own companies monies invested to get this launched. To start marketing this, she's been invited to be featured right in the center of the MOCAD, Museum of Contemporary Art exhibit in May for 8 weeks that will start spreading the word and launching Phase 1 Construction. What she's looking for next is additional local support and funding to break ground sooner than later. As it sits, the condos will cost 60% less in energy and almost 50% less per square foot for building in comparison to most new construction homes. It's incredible what were able to do with our product to keep these costs so low and eco-friendly. It's a win/win all the way around that I'd love to share with you and your supporters.
What I come to you today for is resources and support in seeing this come to fruition and assist in changing Detroit's economy and the earth for the higher good. What's needed right now are resources that can help us get energy and tax credit for new construction that is "green and sustainable" AND a $75,000 investment into the company to begin construction that will give a great return on investment in a short amount of time. The business plan is all worked out and would love to share this information with you and any other resources that you think would be a great match on such an influential project. As a side note, if you have a resource that we somehow partner with or invests in the company, you would receive a referral fee for this person(s) in addition to a lot of appreciation and gratitude!
Thank you in advance for your feedback, time and resources and for spreading the importance of "Going Green".
With Kindness,
Luanne

Hi Luanne,
I don't know of any private sources of money but I do have a resource for you. John Sarver, who works for the State of Michigan, keeps track of grants for things like this. He also sends out a monthly newsletter that outlines what is going on in the state with green building. His e-mail address is: jhsarve@michigan.gov
He seems to be at the hub of information for green building in Michigan. Good luck with your funding and let us know how it progresses.

Hi Luanne -
Welcome to MCC!
Get in touch with MCC member Lori Williams (Your Legal Resource) - part of her business is in connecting entrepreneurs with investors... this sounds like a great project!
Thank you Linda for the contact, I really appreciate the referral. You're absolutely correct, the project is GREAT! We're getting everything up and running right now at the museum and it's turning out amazing! Come check it out if you'd like. I got moved up to the 10th now. Hope to see you there.
Luanne
Hi Ann,
Thank you so much for the state contact! He's exactly who we're looking for in reference to city and state support. I really appreciate the feedback and any other great contacts you have that will support such an amazing project. I'll keep you posted on what I find out what he can do and our progress on the exhibit and development.
The exhibit is now on the 10th instead of the 16th. I hope to see you there to have a look. There's many other "art" displays there supporting green and the development of Detroit. Fun!
Thanks again. Luanne
Luanne,
Hope you are coming to the MCC event wednesday - I would love to help another person trying to make things work in the city! I also have some contacts that may be able to help you and would find what you're doing cool.
Are you at the stage where you're publicizing this? I'd love to spread the word about what you're doing (just because I support it) in the circles I travel that you're looking for investment.
Hi Jeremiah,
Thank you so much for your interest and support in what The Power of Green Housing is doing for the city. Did you see us on the news and in the Detroit Free Press last week? It's really moving along and we're very excited to have people interested like yourself who can see the bigger picture and think outside of traditional building. We even went national last week as well. Good or good? Anyway, I'd love to talk to you about other contacts that you have who may support us in our development as well. As far as publicizing, yes! We're on target right now with our marketing person but would love to explore other ways of getting our name and development out there. What ideas do you have in mind? I would put you in contact with him directly as he makes it all happen and gives the go-ahead for what and when. Let's be in touch and see how to move forward with both ends of your interest and participation. Thanks again and thank you for being so patient, it's been a busy week...all great of course.
With Kindness,
Luanne Nelson
Luanne and Ann, I know John Sarver as well, and I can vouch for his knowledge and passion on green energy matters.
Also, Luanne, could you post the information about the exhibit on the 10th in the calendar area of this group?
Jeff
Thank you Jeff for your "vouch" on John Sarver. I've been in touch with him and is helping us move forward with a few things and referring us to other organizations.
Per your request (a good one too) I posted the MOCAD exhibit on the calendar.
Thank you for your interest. I hope to see you there.
Warmly, Luanne
