I will do an ask for YOU!

MY ASK IS SIMPLE - I ASK YOU TO GET OUT THERE AND MEET SOME PEOPLE - PEOPLE THAT YOU WOULD HAVE NEVER MET BEFORE - PEOPLE THAT ARE GOING TO CHANGE YOUR BUSINESS AND SPREAD THE GOOD WORD OF YOUR GOOD WORK AND GOOD SERVICES OFFERED!

Every week - Everyone says to me - I get your weekly updates and I love them - I just need to get out there and do some networking myself! Then they say - I need to do something (my business is dead or slow)...and they chuckle. Well, I really don't know what there is to chuckle about to be honest. If your not getting the business and you know how to get it - WHY aren't you just doing it??? You know to attend MCC luncheons or Tempus Events or the Oakland Business Forum - You know to attend Third Thursday Roundtables - You know to join and or visit a Chamber of Commerce - You know to attend BNI, LBN, and SNG, meetings... then why are you just doing it and chuckling about not? Hard for me to comprehend - Truly is!

So, as I said before - MY ASK IS SIMPLE - FOR YOU TO GET OUT THERE AND STEP OUTSIDE YOUR BOX - STEP OUTSIDE OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE AND BE THE CHANGE YOU WISH TO SEE IN YOUR BUSINESS!

These are trying times right now and doing what you have been doing for the last 5 years, 10 years, 20 years is not going to cut it right now! Join forces with those out there making a change in their business and stop TALKING ABOUT IT!

- Thanks for listening to my rant and have a great day, Keith Stonehouse

I am now off of my soapbox...

Great advice. Thanks for the kick in the pants.

One of the things I love about you, Keith Stonehouse, is that you speak your mind without reservation. You are so totally correct with your "rant."

For centuries the wisest people on the planet have said that if you are unhappy with your situation, the best thing you can do is take action - any action at all, because it immediately shifts the energy around you and in you.

The greatest gift we can give ourselves in regards to the economy (or anything else we perceive as negative) is to change our attitude toward it, take action, and hold ourselves responsible for our choices.

Linda Angér, philosophically

I find that when my attitude is down or negative, it's a downward spiral, leading to a place where it's all too easy to chuckle and not act. And the mountain grows ever bigger...

Here's the key that I've found to turn that mountain into a molehill. Act. Take one action that you know you should. I know - you don't want to, you don't feel like it, it's scary, it's risky, it's whatever. But act. It doesn't even necessarily have to be a BIG action, if you're not up to it. Just take SOME action. And then another action. And then another action. And before you know it, your juices are flowing, your passion is back, and your attitude has changed!

This morning, as I was driving back from taking my daughter to school (she had missed the bus again - but that's a whole other story), I was listening to the yammering going on in my head. It was really negative! And when I arrived home, I was so tired, didn't wanna, just "blech". I called a friend to clear my head out, and had just this conversation with her. At the end of it, I wasn't as tired, and I had some freedom to act today.

I'm devoting today to acting. Taking one action. And then the next. And then the next. Until the day is done. And I've also promised three specific actions that I will take, no matter what.

If (who am I kidding - WHEN) you find yourself in a bad place (I always say that my mind is a VERY bad neighborhood), call someone. A friend who won't buy into your "stuff". A coach. (Better yet, hire a coach so you have someone who never forgets who you are and what you're up to and capable of.) And then act. And act. And act. And...

You get the picture!

A body in motion tends to say in motion, whatever direction that motion is.

It is hard sometimes to stay 100% positive - but there are always good things that come out.

A balance is really important to find - do what you love, whether it's at work or it's at home.  All work and no play makes one even more prone to be in that hole... and finding joy in the simple things helps out too.

I will simply add that after you meet someone through a networking event, follow up. Suggest that you meet for coffee, lunch, or an afternoon beverage. Find out how you can help them, and then do it.

Dale Hetrick

Keith - So very true in these times. If anyone has ever watched Fisch's "SHIFT HAPPENS" video on You Tube then you know we live in "exponential times". Essentially, if you are not willing to change, then you are not willing to grow. If you are not willing to grow, then you are not really willing to live. If you are not willing to live, well, the alternative ain't that great!
